Kayaking

Overview

Kayaking sessions at West Wight Sports and Community Centre on the Isle of Wight are delivered by the Isle of Wight Canoe Club, an independent, not‑for‑profit club founded in 2007.

These sessions provide a relaxed and supportive environment where participants can learn or practise kayaking techniques in the safe surroundings of the swimming pool.
Pool‑based sessions are ideal for both beginners and more experienced paddlers, offering the opportunity to develop key skills such as paddling, balance and water safety. Participants can build confidence in a warm, controlled setting before progressing to open‑water environments.

A volunteer Isle of Wight Canoe Club Activity Supervisor is on hand during sessions to offer guidance, advice and training at no additional cost. All equipment is provided, making it easy to get started.

Please note: Sessions are delivered by Isle of Wight Canoe Club and are not included in any West Wight Sports and Community Centre memberships.
