Relaxation and Rehabilitation Swim
Overview
Relaxation and Rehabilitation Swim at West Wight Sports and Community Centre on the Isle of Wight is a warm, welcoming and supportive pool session designed for those who benefit from gentle movement, therapeutic exercise and a friendly, inclusive environment.
Formerly known as a special care swim, this long‑standing and much‑loved session has evolved to better reflect its focus on well‑being, confidence and connection. Known affectionately by regulars as Wellness Wednesdays or Wibbly Wobbly Swim —and even described as —this session offers a relaxed space where everyone can feel comfortable and supported in the water.
The session is ideal for those recovering from illness or injury, managing long‑term or neurological conditions, or simply looking for a calm and therapeutic swim experience. With warmer water, additional equipment and a quieter atmosphere, participants can move at their own pace and enjoy the benefits of being in the water.
Experienced instructor Alison is in the pool to provide guidance and reassurance, supported by trained lifeguards, ensuring a safe and encouraging environment for all.
